Currumbin Local – Community Services and Business Directory
Currumbin is located on the Southern end of the Gold Coast, near the border of New South Wales and has about 10,000 residents. It is about one hour north to Brisbane and one hour south to Byron Bay and Ballina along the Pacific Highway.
Currumbin is known for its picturesque surf beach and beach homes, luxury houses, low rise apartments and duplexes in a quiet semi-country setting unlike the hustle and bustle of the northern Gold Coast. Apart from low rise ocean front properties, many properties across the Gold Coast Highway are fortunate to have lovely views of the creek, beach and Hinterland from Currumbin.
Currumbin is a seaside village so directly west is The Pacific Ocean. Palm Beach is the next suburb to the North of Currumbin with Tugun, Bilinga and the Coolangatta Airport directly to the South. The new Southern Cross University is now built on the southern end of the airport and within walking distance from Tugun.
The Gold Coast Hinterland via the Currumbin Valley is East of Currumbin. Also to the East is the as yet undeveloped new suburb of Cobaki Lakes in New South Wales just across the border.
The Tugun By-Pass Road, linking the Pacific Highway from the border of New South Wales to Currumbin was completed in June 2008 and returned the seaside villages of Currumbin and Tugun to quiet locations, taking trucks and traffic off the Gold Coast Highway to a direct route south into New South Wales and north to Brisbane on the Pacific Highway.
The goal of this website is to give locals and visitors a closer look at Currumbin and the facilities and businesses located here.
